Retreat Itinerary

7 days in Ecuador, October 11th -17th, 2020

WHAT TO EXPECT

Day 1

Join your trip leaders and new community of women mid-morning at Casa Mojanda, a delightful and unique eco-lodge above the Andean town of Otavalo. After our kick-off and intention sharing activity we’ll walk to town for a delightful afternoon of sightseeing and local pleasures.  We’ll cap off the night with our Opening Ceremony and then share a delicious dinner at the lodge.

Day 2

The day will start with a community meditation in an authentic Aztec roundhouse.  When finished we’ll share breakfast and be briefed on the day.  The morning will be spent in guided discussion and experiences that allow each  woman to enter into their relationship to topics that help guide our lives and the purpose we serve including: personal intuition, inner knowing, feminine/masculine power, leadership, professional vocation and  leadership. This day also includes our first introduction to shamanism and the other ways of knowing that these revered healers use to help you better understand your self.

Day 3, 4 and 5

Again, the day will start with a community meditation.  After breakfast we’ll be traveling to San Clemente another small village that sits at the foothills of the Imbabura Volcano. Here we will stay with Kichwa – Karanki indigenous families who manifested their dream of eco-tourism and inviting People from around the world to join them in their way of life.  Our home stay includes eating and working with local people and learning about their reference for Pachamama, Mother Earth.  Here you will also enjoy a cleansing ceremony given by a local shaman and his family.  It is designed to help you begin shedding what needs to be let go while inviting in what you need most to move into the next phase of your life.

To and from the city of San Clemente there will be fun and interesting stops where we will stop in the wood-working village and visit  local artists who treat us to lunch and share their cooperative artisan gallery of paintings, masks and other beautiful handmade pieces of art.

Day 7

This is market day and a fun-filled afternoon of the most famous market of South America!  First is the animal market for the early birds in the group. After the market, you’ll be expertly guided by Debbie Daniels (Queen of Shopping) into a whirlwind of everything including special visits to the local artists who only come to town on Market Day.  For those of you that need more stillness, you’re welcome to continue relaxing and enjoying Casa Mojanda.   We’ll eat lunch in town and return to the rooftop of Mimi’s home to complete our retreat with a “Show and Tell” of all our delightful market purchases.

For those leaving this day, transportation will be arranged to bring people to the airport for their return home or whatever other adventure lies ahead.
